Fiddle Force
Fiddle Force was formed in 1990 after discussions between Allan MacLeod, Karen Steven and Iain Fraser on how to "keep the party going" after Alasdair Fraser's summer school at Sabhal Mor Ostaig in Skye. One aim was to replicate the house parties which Cape Bretoners organised away from home based in places like Detroit, Toronto and Boston and by providing house guests with free accomodation make it a low cost 24 hour ceilidh. The general theme of FF is to promote Cape Breton style playing since it was the playing which belonged to the western seaboard of Scotland ( and therefore Gaelic based music).
